Are you interested in music, dance, drama, graphic arts, design or the conservation and restoration of cultural assets? Would you like to complete your training in Spain? If the answer is yes, you'll find a range of creative degree courses here specialising in these areas. Prepare yourself for the world market and become an expert in your field while you discover another country.

These courses are part of the European Higher Education Area and are structured according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), with each credit corresponding to 25 hours of study and work. Within these five categories (Music / Dance / Drama / Plastic Arts and Design / Conservation and Restoration of cultural assets), you'll also find an array of specialities there are certain to adapt to the professional path you're set on.

You'll also receive the European Supplement to the Degree (containing information on the studies you've completed), which is useful for enabling you to move to other institutions to study.

How these courses are structured

1) Higher degree
This acts as a first cycle and has a duration of four academic years, equivalent to 240 European credits (ECTS). You'll receive training and practical experience, and be required to submit a final project.

Entry requirements

1)    You must have your Bachiller's certificate (sixth form or high school) or equivalent (if you have a foreign certificate, this must be certified) or –in the case of students aged over 25– have passed your university entrance exam (you'll find more information on how to take this exam at a distance in the following link. (http://portal.uned.es/portal/page?_pageid=93,23741482&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL)

2)    If you're aged over 19 but you do not meet the above requirements, you can take what is known as the “maturity test” (consisting of passing objectives similar to those for the Bachiller).

3)    With some exceptions you'll also have to take a specific entrance exam depending on the course you choose.

2) Master's
This is designed to provide more advanced or specialised training. The combination of the theoretical and practical training is equivalent to between 60 and 120 ECTS. You'll also have to submit a final project.

Entry requirements

You must have an official Higher Degree in a creative course, an official graduate degree or its equivalent issued by an academic institution in the European Higher Education Area.

3) Doctorate
Doctorates depend on agreements with the universities, so we recommend that you obtain further information about what you're interested in studying.

Grants and Erasmus

By embarking on any of these courses you'll be entitled to take part in the Erasmus European mobility programmes, and you may also be interested in applying for some of the grants available. Here are two suggestions:

MAEC-AECID grants for foreign citizens.

Unesco-Aschberg artists' grants.

Whatever you choose, in Spain you'll find a quality training course which will guarantee your professional qualification.

Things to remember

The specific entrance examinations can be taken in any Spanish autonomous region. However, each region tends to give priority places to those who pass the test in the territory itself.

You'll find that the study plans in these centres are fully oriented to these areas, and many of them have a long tradition.
